Survival analysis methods, such as proportional hazards regression differ from logistic regression by assessing a rate instead of a proportion. Proportional hazards regression, also called Cox regression, models the incidence or hazard rate, the number of new cases of disease per population at-risk per unit time. Today we spent 24 hours stranded on the worlds smallest island!! It went horribly wrong and the island went underwater during high tide!! LIKE AND COMMENT What 24 hour challenge you wanna see next.

Discover the power of teamwork through an exciting activity inspired by Louis Zamperini's World War II experiences.
Skills and Objectives
• Explore the importance of teamwork when problem solving.
Materials:Together Forever Student Worksheet 2, Unity and Optimism Student Worksheet 3, and #IAmUnbroken Student Worksheet 4 (available for download at www.scholastic.com/unbroken)
1) Quick-Start Activity
Explain to students that Louis Zamperini was stranded in the Pacific Ocean for 47 days and had to fight off hungry sharks. Let students know that this was just one of the great challenges WWII veteran and Olympian Louis Zamperini overcame during his lifetime.
Gather students in a group at one side of the classroom or to one side in the school hallway. Stick a strip of masking tape 5 feet away from your line of students and name the space within the masking tape and the students 'Ocean Full of Sharks.' Give the group one pair of large-size shoes for the entire group.
The objective is to get the whole group to safely cross the ocean full of sharks in a make-believe boat as fast as they can. Students can't cross without wearing the special shoes and each student can only wear the shoes once. The shoes can't be thrown back across the ocean when one person makes it safely to the other side.
Hint: To get everyone across, students will have to carry other students, but the same student can't cross the river more than twice.
2) Read and Discuss
DistributeTogether Forever Student Worksheet 2 (available at www.scholastic.com/unbroken) and provide time for students to review the reading passage. Discuss the role that teamwork played in Louis Zamperini's experiences.
3) Teamwork Challenge
Distribute Unity and Optimism Student Worksheet 3 (available at www.scholastic.com/unbroken). Let students know that they will now be challenged to work as a team to survive a 'dangerous' assignment.
Separate students into teams of three or four and assign each group one of the following situations:
(Feel free to make up alternative situations.)
Explain to students:
'This situation will test your survival skills. You will have 15 minutes to get to know your teammates and to develop a plan. The clock is ticking!'
Give students their special assignments, and have them useUnity and Optimism Student Worksheet 3 to brainstorm how they would escape the situation using one skill from each member of their group. Students should have a written plan before the buzzer sounds. Then have them elect a spokesperson for the group to share their survival plan with the class.
Share Your Unbroken Story
Students ages 13 and up can share their personal stories of inspiration and strength for the chance to have a professional team create a video segment of their stories to be displayed on IAmUnbroken.com and possibly have their stories featured on TODAY! Click here to download #IAmUnbroken Student Worksheet 4 and distribute to interested students.
